Music legend Stevie Wonder recently announced to the world that he would be taking his disdain for the United States’ divisive political atmosphere on the road, expressing his feelings in the way he has been best known for over half a century: through live performance.
Since October 8, Wonder has been performing shows throughout ten cities that are part of the nation’s “battleground states,” naming his tour “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart,” after the title of his first new song since 2020, “Can We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart.”
He has been performing a wide selection of songs from his five-decade discography in a continued effort to unite people in the days leading up to the 2024 Presidential Election. With just over two weeks to go until the election, Wonder hopes that his long held message of unity will inspire American citizens to turn their words into actions by taking to the polls and making their voices heard by casting their votes.

In a recent interview with Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass, Wonder spoke of his concern for the current political climate, which served as the main inspiration for his latest single..
“It doesn’t matter what party you belong to. It’s about us committing ourselves to becoming that very thing that I always say: a united people of these United States,” Wonder explained to Bass.
Throughout his extensive career, Wonder has committed himself to using the power of music to bring people together and to inspire a call to action to fight ongoing injustices such as racial inequity, poverty, homelessness, and global conflict. He has inspired the world with timeless classics such as “Living for the City,” “Higher Ground,” and “Love’s in Need of Love Today,” encouraging communities to harness the power of positivity and kindness to fight for equality.
“I’ve always felt that singing and expressing love throughout the world could make a major difference. It always has and always will,” Wonder said in a video uploaded to his official Facebook page in September.
Wonder will wrap up his mini tour on October 30th in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
