Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney: A Bipartisan Stand for Women’s Rights

Liz Cheney has not made it a secret about her disapproval of Donald Trump and now she’s taken it to the campaign trail with Kamala Harris to convince other GOP Republican women to support Kamala Harris as well.

What’s interesting about this moment is that Liz Cheney was easily against the idea of abortion and supported the decision to overturn Roe vs Wade, but due to the lack of protection women have when it comes to reproductive health care. That is when Liz Cheney decided to vote blue for Kamala Harris because she believed that Kamala Harris cared more about the well-being of women’s health than Donald Trump.

“The mother of five, who was staunchly anti-abortion as a lawmaker and who cheered the demise of Roe v. Wade, also warned women aren’t getting needed reproductive health care after the Supreme Court’s momentous 2022 decision and said that only Harris had the compassion to deal with the issue.” Senior Reporter Stephen Collinson stated in a CNN article.

Liz Cheney also made it clear that even though she’s against abortion, she’s made it very clear how heartbroken she feels about the suffering women have been through ever since Roe v. Wade was overturned. “I have been very troubled, deeply troubled by what I have watched happen in so many states.”

She stated, “I have been troubled by the extent to which you have women who, as the vice president said, in some cases, have died, who can’t get medical treatment that they need because providers are worried about criminal liability.” Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney proved that even when you disagree, you can still unite to do what’s right for the American people.
