Judge Allows Trump to Dismiss Hush Money Charges

All last year, it seemed as though upcoming and former president Donald Trump just couldn’t get himself out of trouble. With the array of cases brought against him these past few years, it must sound like music to his ears that a judge is finally granting him the ability to dismiss his “hush money payment case.”

According to Fox News, Judge Juan Merchan granted Mr. Trump’s request to file a motion to dismiss the charges in New York v. Trump. He has also removed the sentencing date.

“In a decisive win for President Trump, the hoax Manhattan Case is now fully stayed, and sentencing is adjourned. President Trump won a landslide victory as the American People have issued a mandate to return him to office and dispose of all remnants of the Witch Hunt cases,” said Trump’s spokesperson and upcoming White House director of communications, Steven Cheung.

According to CBS News, Trump’s attorneys feel dismissing the case would be the right thing to do since Trump is now the upcoming president; they think that proceeding with the case would be ‘”unconstitutional.” The judge has given them until December 2 to file the motion.

“Just as a sitting President is completely immune from any criminal process, so too is President Trump as President-elect,” Trump’s lawyers Todd Blanche and Emil Bove asserted.
