It’s been almost a week since Kamala Harris lost the election and Donald Trump was reelected president. But what if someone told you that there’s a loophole that could make Kamala Harris president before President-Elect Trump is sworn in?

According to sources, the only loophole for Kamala to still be elected as the first female president of the United States is through her position as vice president. Former communications director for Kamala Harris, Jamal Simmons, made an unexpected suggestion during a discussion panel on CNN by saying that President Joe Biden “could resign the presidency in the next 30 days (and) make Kamala Harris the president of the United States.”

One of the reasons why Jamal suggested this is because out of all the promises that Biden has made to this country, the most important promise is for him to be the transitional president. “Joe Biden’s been a phenomenal president,” Jamal stated in USA Today. “He’s lived up to so many of the promises he’s made.

There’s one promise left that he can fulfill: being a transitional figure.” Another reason would be that it would help Kamala better cope with her election loss, and it could potentially help Democrats dominate media news and learn how to get the audience’s attention.

“The move, Simmons argued, would keep Harris from having to oversee “her own defeat” when the presidential election is certified in the Senate, and “it would dominate the news at a point where Democrats have to learn” to grab the public’s attention.” Election Reporting Fellow George Fabe Russell stated.

This last-minute loophole may never happen.
