It’s official, everyone! Former president Donald Trump won the presidential election against former vice president Kamala Harris, and he is now scheduled to be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States of America. Trump is known for having passionate and spirited supporters.
Trump is also known for his bold and unfiltered mouth and personality. He has been known to make rather bold and unnerving comments about Hispanic Americans in the past, and a lot of people didn’t like him because of this. Still, now it appears that Hispanic American voters have had a radical change of heart.
According to Reuters, “46% of self-identified Hispanic voters picked Trump, up from 32% in the 2020 election when Trump lost to Democrat Joe Biden.” Mr. Trump has “won 55% of Hispanic men, 19 points more than the 36% share he won four years earlier, while he garnered support from 38% of Hispanic women, up 8 points from 2020,” as per Reuters.
Trump also performed better with African American men; according to U.S. News, he garnered 24 percent of the Black male vote as opposed to the 9 percent of Black women who supported him. Mr. Trump even managed to attract younger voters in this election compared to the other two elections. According to Forbes, “Trump won men aged 18 to 29 by 49% to Harris’ 47%.”
According to Forbes, Latino men “gravitated towards Trump” more than ever before, with him winning the group by a 12-point margin, while Harris only won Latinos over by a six-point margin compared to Bidens 33-point edge and Clinton’s 38 points in the previous elections.
