Former One Direction star Liam Payne, 31, was found dead, Wednesday, October 16, after falling three stories from the balcony of a hotel he was staying in Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to CNN, they had received a 911 call on Wednesday about an “aggressive man who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
It was confirmed that Mr. Payne “jumped off the balcony before his death”, and that he “suffered a fracture at the base of the skull” subsequent to the fall, as per People Magazine and Alberto Crescenti (the head of SAME, Buenos Aires’ public emergency medical services system).
It was revealed (although the toxicology and autopsy reports have yet to be conducted and released) that Mr. Payne died of “internal and external hemorrhage,” as per E News and CNN.

“…We urgently need someone to come because, well, I’m not sure if the guest’s life is at risk. He’s in a room with a balcony. And, well, we’re a bit afraid that he might do something to put his life in danger,” a hotel staffer told 911.
Prior to his death, Liam was receiving a lot of criticism online and was going through legal issues with his ex-girlfriend, model, Maya Henry. According to Times Now News, fans were angry at the singer for “attending former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert and then hogging attention there”; calling him out on his “self-centered behavior.” The singer’s ex accused him of “persistent phone calls and messages” after their breakup in 2022, and she has issued a “cease and desist letter” to Payne, as per San Antonio Express-News.
