Broadway Dancer Zelig Williams Missing: Community Urged to Assist

“I just want Zelig to come home,” Kathy Williams stated in an article for Deadline. “He’s all I got, he’s all I got, he’s all I got, please bring my baby home.” Kathy Williams is the mother of Broadway Dancer Zelig Williams, who went missing in Columbia, South Carolina, on Thursday, October 3.

Zelig had recently relocated back to his hometown from New York City, and he was working regularly as a dance teacher. Zelig Williams has a Broadway career as a dancer in Lynn Nottage’s MJ the musical, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton musical, and Hugh Jackman’s 2019 tour The Man. The Music. The Show.

When Zelig went missing, his car was found near Congaree National Park, which is approximately 20 miles Southeast of Columbia. His family stated that at least one friend received an SOS alert from Zelig’s phone in New York City the night he went missing, which indicated a possible car accident.

When the car was found in the parking lot, there were no signs of a car accident. Police stated that this case would be investigated as a missing person’s case, but no foul play had been ruled out.

Zelig’s case was brought to light when Hugh Jackman posted on Instagram requesting information about Zelig’s disappearance, and he was pleading with viewers to help find Zelig Williams. Zelig’s cousin, Mieoki Corbett-Jacobs, stated that Zelig may have stopped taking his medication before he went missing and that he “may seem to be in distress or even in a trance-like state.”

Mieoki also added that without his medication, Zelig “is very, very vulnerable.” If anyone knows anything about Zelig William’s whereabouts, contact the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 576-3000.
